MUMBAI: Pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is poised to make his long-awaited comeback. Bumrah, who has been sidelined due to injury has shown remarkable progress in his fitness. Training videos have surfaced revealing Bumrah's energetic return to form at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
This development in his health is a major boost for the Indian team. Team India had experienced setbacks due to injuries to several key players including Shreyas Iyer and K L Rahu. The impact of these absences was evident in India's 209-run loss to Australia in the World Test Championship final last month. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been absent from the team since the beginning of the year following a serious car accident. Bumrah's absence from the squad was also felt as he missed more days due to injury than his fellow players.

Bumrah's last appearance for Team India was in the T20 series against Australia in September last year. He was ruled out of the T20 World Cup later in the year due to a spine injury. His absence was keenly felt when India suffered a defeat in the World Cup semi-finals. Bumrah underwent surgery in March this year.
Recent reports suggest that Bumrah is likely to make his comeback during the series against Ireland next month. Bowler Prasidh Krishna, who had also been out due to injury has resumed training.
