SRINAGAR: CRPF jawans injured in vehicle overturn in Jammu and Kashmir. The vehicle in which the CRPF team was traveling overturned into the Sindh river in the Ganderbal district. It is reported that eight soldiers were injured. The vehicle which was coming to Amarnath via Baltal is the one that met with the accident in the afternoon. CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police rushed to the accident site and carried out rescue operations. The injured soldiers were shifted to the hospital in Baltal. It is reported that the injuries are not serious.
An army vehicle was set on fire in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch in April, which was later proved to be a terrorist attack. Five jawans were martyred and one was seriously injured in the incident. The truck was going from Bhimbar Gali in Poonch district to a military unit in Tota Gali before it caught fire. The army clarified that there was a grenade attack. The attack took place on the soldiers of the Anti-Terrorist Operation Wing. As there was heavy rain on the day of the incident, the initial conclusion was that the truck caught fire due to lightning.
Last Friday, there was a terrorist attack targeting people from other states in Kashmir. Three people from Bihar were shot dead in the terrorist attack in Shopian in South Kashmir. Anmol Kumar, Pintu Kumar Thakur, and Heralal Yadav who are workers from Bihar were the ones who got shot. After the withdrawal of special status, terrorist attacks targeting non-Kashmirs and Kashmiri Pandits have been reported in Kashmir. The incident in Shopian is reportedly the latest of such attacks.
