THRISSUR: One more accused has been arrested in the case of killing and burying a wild elephant in a rubber plantation. Vinayan, a native of Pattimattom, was arrested. Vinayan is a member of Akhil's gang that tried to take the elephant's horn. Akhil was already under arrest. The forest department stated that there are more accused in the case.

The elephant's carcass was found in the rubber plantation that belongs to Roy located at Chelakkara Mullurkara Vazhacode. Forest department inspected the place on the basis of a secret information. The carcass of the elephant, which was recovered with the help of a JCB, was in a rotten state. Only one horn was recovered from the scene. On June 15, while burying the elephant, the group including Vinayan cut the elephant's horn and hid it in the rubber plantation, without the knowledge of Roy who is the first accused. The next day, Vinayan came with Akhil and took the horn in a car.
