THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As per reports, 1631 people in Kerala were attacked by stray dogs in 72 hours. This is the count for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
A baby who was attacked by a dog in Thiruvananthapuram's Balaramapuram on Saturday required plastic surgery. Despite repeated incidents, the concerned departments are not doing anything and are blaming the central norms.
This year, 1,62,437 people sought treatment for dog bites in six months. 25,000 people seek treatment every month. March had the highest number of cases - 31,000. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts report highest number of attacks.
