KARACHI: Pakistan is reeling under economic vulnerability and poverty. Pakistan received $5.6 billion in aid from the International Monetary Fund a few days ago. Now, however, reports indicate that, despite offers of assistance from around the globe, attacks against the nation's minority persist unabatedly.
Two Hindu temples in Pakistan's Sindh province were vandalized by attackers in the days leading up to Sunday. Of these, the Mari Mata Temple in Karachi is about 150 years old. The second temple in Kashmore, Sindh was destroyed by terrorists using a rocket launcher. The 150-year-old temple in Soldier Bazar was completely razed to the ground.
The assailants opened fire on the temple in Kashmore and the houses of Hindu devotees nearby. According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, around 30 people, including women and children, have been victims of such attacks in the area so far.
