KOZHIKODE: Member of Parliament K Muraleedharan from Vadakara constituency expressed his reservations about CPM's presence in Kerala. While acknowledging an alliance between the Congress and CPM at the national level, he emphasized that the CPM's stance in Kerala was perplexing.
According to Muraleedharan, CPM in Kerala is an unusual entity that cannot be readily accepted. Speaking about the need for a unified opposition against BJP he highlighted the importance of a clear agenda. He also raised concerns about JDS aligning with the BJP at the national level urging leaders from Kerala to clarify their stance.
Addressing the issue of the Uniform Civil Code, Muraleedharan stated that the Congress party would initiate a strike only after the draft law on the matter was passed. He expressed the view that a Uniform Civil Code was unnecessary for the country. Muraleedharan emphasized that UDF should not invite EP Jayarajan and Shobha Surendran. He added that the Congress party had an ample number of leaders in the state.
