KOCHI: A case was registered against the MLAs for forcibly releasing KSU activists from police custody. The case is against Chalakudy MLA Saneesh Kumar and Angamaly MLA Roji M John. The accused were released from the lockup using force under the leadership of the MLAs.

KSU activists Rajeev and Dijon were taken into police custody in connection with the students clash in Kalady Sri Sankara College. A 15-member team led by the MLAs released them using force. A case has been registered against 15 persons, including MLAs, under IPC 506 (intimidation of officials), IPC 353 (obstructing official duties) and IPC 294 (hurling abuses). The FIR also stated that the group led by the MLAs created an atmosphere of terror, threatened the officials and tried to harass the officials by hurling abuses.
