THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala unit Janata Dal-S is in crisis as JDS president HD Deve Gowda and his son Kumaraswamy are sure to bring the party to the BJP camp. The state leaders are repeating the stand that they will remain as a constituent party of the Left Front.

The fact that the Dal-S is not participating in Tuesday's NDA meeting is the only consolation for the state unit. However, Kumaraswamy has already given a clear indication that his party is with the BJP. With this, it is up to the Kerala unit to clarify its position.

Minister and senior leader K Krishnankutty responded that they are not ready to ally with BJP. Janata Dal-S state president Mathew T Thomas MLA said that he will clarify his stand after the All India leadership announces its decision. It is reported that the state leadership has not yet been able to contact Deve Gowda.

At the same time, JDS All India General Secretary Jose Thettayil said that the party had decided to continue the anti-BJP and non-Congress approach in its last National Committee meeting. The party has not discussed any change from this. The National Committee did not meet later.

LJD invites JDS
Meanwhile, the Lok Tantric Janata Dal (LJD) has invited the Janata Dal-S Kerala unit to stand with them. LJD, on the other hand, is preparing to merge with Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal. LJD All India Secretary General Dr. Varughese George said that Kerala leaders of JDS should cooperate with LJD in the wake of the crisis.
