KAYAMKULAM: A youth was hacked to death in the middle of the road after a clash between gangs of bike-borne assailants. Two people have been taken into custody. The deceased has been identified as Ambadi (21).Amitabh Chandran and Vijith, natives of Krishnapuram have been taken into custody.

The incident took place at Mavinalkutty junction in the east of Kappil around 5.30 pm yesterday. Ambadi, who came with his brother Arjun and his friends, was hacked in the neck by a gang on bikes. His friends immediately rushed him to the Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital but he did not survive. Weapons, iron pipes, a hockey stick and a cricket bat were recovered from the spot. Ambadi, who was killed, was a DYFI worker.Ambadi was also stabbed six months ago during a temple festival in Kandallur.
