KOCHI: Malabar cement former secretary Saseendran and his two sons' death was suicide, reiterated CBI. The CBI officials submitted a detailed report to a special CBI court in Ernakulam. It was after the HC intrusion that CBI had to conduct a thorough examination of events again.
On 2011, January 24, Saseendran and his two children were found hanging in their house in Palakkad. According to CBI, Saseendran went out of favor with businessman V M Radhakrishnan after the latter accused Saseendran of revealing major details of corruption inside Malabar cement to vigilance. Radhakrishnan often threatened Saseendran over this. Saseendran first killed his two sons and later hanged himself to death. Radhakrishnan was later charged by CBI for abetment of suicide.
The case was nearing to trial session when Saseendran's brother V Sanalkumar approached HC saying the CBI findings as erroneous. The HC asked the CBI to continue another investigation, and the court put a stop to all proceedings related to the case. Delhi-based CBI crime DySP Sailendra headed the group for investigation. Now, the CBI court will study the report and will inform the decision within five days.
