THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to get widespread rain in the state due to the possibility of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone formed is likely to intensify as low pressure over northwest Bay of Bengal causing Kerala to get rain.
The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of widespread rain and heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala till July 22. Yellow alert has been sounded in four districts today. Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod are on yellow alert today.
Yellow alert has been sounded in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod tomorrow and in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod on Friday. Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod will be on yellow alert on Saturday.
Chances of isolated heavy rains are predicted in these districts. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
