NEW DELHI: The new ranking of the world's most powerful passports was published on Tuesday by Henley & Partners, a global investment migration consultancy. As per the latest rankings India is ranked 80th along with countries like Togo and Senegal. Indians can now travel visa-free to 57 countries.
Indian passport holders get visa-free access and visa-on-arrival access to countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Rwanda, Jamaica and Sri Lanka. However, they still require a visa to enter 177 countries worldwide. China, Japan, Russia, the United States, and the European Union are a few of these nations.
Singapore has overtaken Japan, which has held the top spot for the past five years. Japan is currently in third place. A Singapore passport currently allows visa-free travel to 192 countries. Germany, Spain and Italy are in second place. Afghanistan is at the bottom of the list with access to only 27 countries.
