MUMBAI: The Asian cricket council has announced the schedule for this year's Asia Cup co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.BCCI secretary and ACC chief Jay Shah has announced that the Asia Cup matches will be hybrid this year.

After it was announced that India will not go to Pakistan for the matches, the tournament was deemed a hybrid. The series will begin with the match between Nepal and Pakistan in Multan, Pakistan on August 30. The second game of the series between arch-enemies India and Pakistan will take place on September 2 at Kandy, Sri Lanka.


India's second match is against Nepal on September 4. This match will also be held in Kandy itself. Three group matches and one Super Four match will be played in Pakistan.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage. The top teams from the Super Four stage will reach the finals. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal will be competing in the Asia Cup. The matches will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17.
