PARAVUR: A youth has been booked for sexually assaulting a minor girl whom he met through Instagram. The accused Anoop (23) was sentenced to four years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 15,000 by the Paravur fast-track special court. The fine was also ordered to be paid to the survivor. If the fine is not paid, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of seven months.

He met the girl through Instagram on October 1, 2021. According to reports he sexually abused the girl till March 2022. Circle Inspector Rajan K investigated the case and submitted the charge sheet. Special Public Prosecutor Pravita Girishkumar appeared for the prosecution.
