THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police arrested a youth for spitting on a female student when she questioned his act of annoying her during a bus journey. The Mangalapuram police arrested Anandu (25), a native of Valikode, staying in a rented house in Attingal. The incident happened near Pallipuram on Wednesday at 8 am.

When the spit fell on her body, she informed the other bus passengers about it. The bus then stopped at the Mangalapuram Junction. When Anandu tried to flee, the locals caught him and handed him over to the police. The police arrested him on the complaint lodged by the girl and he has been remanded. Police said the same youth had misbehaved with the girls while travelling in a bus last week and had also hurled abuses at them.
