IMPHAL: One person has been arrested for sexually abusing two women after parading them naked in Manipur. A day after the video of the incident went viral, one of the absconding accused was caught. The arrested is the main accused identified as Heradas (32), a native of Thoubal. The police said that he can be clearly seen in the footage.

Meantime, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on Thursday that a detailed investigation is on and strict action including capital punishment will be awarded to the accused. The incident happened on May 4. The visuals show two women of Kuki tribe being stripped, paraded naked and gang raped at the nearby fields. The center has asked twitter and other social media platforms to withdraw the video. As the matter is under investigation, directions have been given not to share the video.
