KAYAMKULAM: Police is all set to approach the court to subject the three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Ambadi, a prominent member of the DYFI regional committee in Krishnapuram to an identification parade. The accused have been identified as Amitabh Chandran (37) from Chandralayam, East of Krishnapuram Kappil, his brother Akshay Chandran (27) and their friend Vijith (27) from Sajith Bhavan in Kappil.
The accused were presented before the Kayamkulam First Class Magistrate Court yesterday and remanded. The victim, Ambadi (21), son of Santhosh from Pudupally Govindamuttam Velasserithara was tragically killed on Tuesday at approximately 6:30 pm. The incident was a result of a conflict that arose between Akshay Chandran and one of Ambadi's friends Ananthu near the south side of Kurakkavu temple in Kappil. This conflict was allegedly related to a bike accident involving a youth from Pudupally who accidentally hit the accused's bike.
Authorities have emphasized the significance of conducting an identification parade, as there appears to be no prior acquaintance between the two groups involved. Akshay Chandran has been charged with incitement and it has been revealed that Amitabh Chandran has two previous assault cases on his record. Akshay Chandran has a history of eight cases including one related to POCSO.
Despite accusations from CPM against RSS for being behind the murder police have asserted that the motive behind the crime is not politically motivated. In response to the allegations levelled against them, the RSS has taken legal action against those who made such claims.
