NEW DELHI: After murdering her ex-boyfriend with a cobra, a woman, and her new boyfriend escaped to Nepal. The Uttarakhand police have intensified action to nab the woman named Mahi Arya and her new boyfriend from Nepal. According to the Uttarakhand police, Mahi Arya had hired a snake charmer to place the cobra inside the car of her boyfriend.

The shocking incident took place in Haldwani in Uttarakhand. Businessman Ankit Chauhan (32) was found dead in his car with snake bites on July 15. The car was found near a railway crossing in Theenpani. Initially, Chauhan's death was believed to be an accident. However, a post-mortem report showed that Ankit was bitten by a snake twice and that the poison had entered his body. Following this, the police launched an investigation by checking CCTV footage from nearby areas and Ankit's phone calls.

Chauhan's sister Isha, who had suspicions about Chauhan's girlfriend Mahi Arya, soon lodged a complaint with the police. Based on Isha's complaint, the police monitored Mahi Arya's phone call records. On checking Arya's phone calls, the police found that she had been in contact with a snake charmer named Ramesh Nath several times. The police then took Ramesh Nath into custody. Upon questioning, Ramesh Nath revealed that he was hired by Mahi Arya to get her boyfriend killed. Police identified five accused, including Arya and Ramesh Nath. It turns out to be a planned and executed murder by Arya.

Snake charmer got Rs 10000
Snake charmer Ramesh Nath told police that Mahi Arya gave him Rs 10,000 to get Ankit Chauhan killed using a snake. According to Ramesh Nath, Mahi Arya decided to eliminate Ankit as he was unnecessarily interfering with her personal life. He also said that Ankit used to physically torture Mahi Arya after getting drunk and this led to the murder. The other accused in the case are Arya's friend Deep Kandapal and two domestic helpers.
