IMPHAL: The people set on fire the house of the main accused in the incident of stripping and parading women in Manipur. The incident happened two days after the video of the women being stripped and paraded naked, surfaced. A group of people set the house on fire Friday morning.


The incident happened on May 3 in Manipur's Kangpokpi. However, after the restoration of the internet system in the state, this shocking video surfaced only two days ago and led to strong protests across the country.


The police informed that four accused in the incident have been arrested so far. Following the shocking visuals, there has been a demand from some quarters to oust the chief minister. However, Chief Minister Biren Singh informed that death penalty would be ensured for the accused. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Biren Singh. There were huge protests across the country after the video went viral. People dressed in black staged a huge rally at Churachandpur in Manipur.
