KOCHI: Ernakulam North Police will issue a notice to actor Vinayakan in connection with a case involving the alleged insulting remarks made about the late Oommen Chandy. The police claim that Vinayakan's phone was switched off when they attempted to contact him.
The case was registered against Vinayakan based on a complaint lodged by Youth Congress members. According to the complaint, a video surfaced on social media wherein Vinayakan allegedly made derogatory statements about Oommen Chandy. In the Facebook Live video that has sparked the controversy Vinayakan questioned the three-day holiday declared in honour of Oommen Chandy's passing.
As the matter unfolds the police are set to issue the official notice to Vinayakan, demanding his presence at the police station to further investigate the case. The actor is expected to comply with the notice and cooperate with the authorities within the stipulated seven-day period.
