CHATHANNUR: Babu (56) from Puthanveedu was arrested by the police for attempting to assault a woman who lived alone in her house. The incident took place during the church gathering in Thembra. Seizing the opportunity when darkness fell, Babu concealed himself near the woman's house and then entered the premises. Upon hearing the woman's screams, the locals swiftly rushed to her aid. The accused managed to run away into the darkness.

Following the incident, Chathannur ACP issued strict instructions to apprehend the suspect leading to a joint operation led by SHO Sivakumar and involving ASI Asha V Rekha along with officers Madhu, Harivalsen, Sarath, Prashant, Kannan and Madhu. The accused has been remanded in custody for further investigation.
