THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that what is going on in Manipur under the guise of riots is a planned Christian hunt. The ethnic riots that have been going on for more than two months can only be looked at with apprehension. Pinarayi Vijayan said in a Facebook post that the secular community should recognize the Sangh Parivar agenda, which is spreading hatred and turning Manipur into a land of riots for the sake of power politics.
Horrible scenes that hurt the human conscience are continuously coming from Manipur. Women of the Kuki community were hunted down by mob rioters in a most despicable and brutal manner.
Pinarayi Vijayan also pointed out that historical conflicts between the hill tribes and valley dwellers of Manipur are made worse communally by fueling the fire.
It is clear that a planned Christian hunt is taking place under the guise of riots. Christian churches of tribal groups are systematically attacked and destroyed. There are reports that the very people who are responsible for restoring peace are trying to incite riots. The central government's criminal silence on the Manipur issue and the Sangh Parivar agenda have been strongly criticized. It is the duty of the democrats to resist and defeat the planned efforts to strengthen communal polarization, Pinarai Vijayan clarified.
