THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF convener EP Jayarajan said in a press conference that the CPM and LDF are ready to face the Puthuppally by-election whenever it comes. Jayarajan said that LDF will start work related to the election once the by-election is announced. He also said that there will be effective help of CPM in the 'INDIA' coalition at the national level.

Having health issues
Speaking to the media, EP Jayarajan said that he is having certain health issues. "I've just finished my Ayurvedic treatment. After two weeks of treatment, I have to take rest for the same number of days. However, I cannot sit like that as I am living among you (the media). There will be criticism. I came to the program in Thiruvananthapuram the day after the treatment because of that fear," he said.

When quizzed about his absence from the CPM leadership meetings, Jayarajan said that there is no relevance to the question as he is now in Thiruvananthapuram. "I am attending programs throughout Kerala. I will be in Pattambi on Sunday. I will return to Thiruvananthapuram in the evening. I will then travel to Kasargod on Monday. Your (media) statement that I should be here is not with good intentions," he added.
