KALLAMBALAM: The relatives of a youth lodged a complaint with the Kalambalam police after the youth was found hanging in the bedroom of his house. Njekkad native Shyam (42), son of Babu and Pushpalatha, was found hanging on Friday evening. The relatives lodged the complaint alleging that Shyam committed suicide as he was depressed after getting beaten by the employees of a private bus.

According to the complaint, Shyam was brutally beaten up by the bus employees following a verbal argument while he was travelling in a private bus from Attingal. The bus employees continued beating Shyam after dropping him at Chennancode Junction. It has been mentioned in the complaint that the autorickshaw workers at the place are eyewitnesses. After reaching home, Shyam told his mother about the incident. He was later found hanging in the bedroom.

The relatives are saying that Shyam might have committed suicide due to depression following the beating. Shyam, who was a lorry driver, had not been going to work for some time.
