THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Many were pickpocketed when the mortal remains of former chief minister Oommen Chandy were kept for public homage at the Indira Bhavan. Hundreds thronged to pay homage to their beloved leader. The purses of many leaders were pickpocketed. Muhammed Safar had lodged a complaint at stations including the Museum Police.

Nearly 15 purses were found abandoned outside Indira Bhavan. Around 10 purses were received at the station. However, it did not contain any money. No documents including identity card have been lost. It is still unclear how many have lost their wallets. Some are not ready to file a complaint, thinking that they have been lost in the crowd. Efforts are on to find the person who stole the money from the purse.
