BENGALURU: A couple who allegedly stole a truck carrying 2.5 tonnes of tomatoes was apprehended by the authorities. Bhaskar (28) and his wife Sinduja, believed to be members of a highway robbery gang from Vellore, Tamil Nadu, were arrested following an incident that occurred on July 8th. The couple stopped Mallesh from Chitradurga district at Chikkajala in Bangalore.
According to reports, the couple claimed that the lorry had collided with their car and demanded compensation. Subsequently, a heated argument ensued between the couple and Mallesh. During the altercation, the couple forcefully entered the lorry, which was loaded with tomatoes worth Rs 2.5 lakh. Following Mallesh's complaint, the police were able to track the lorry and apprehend the accused. The incident took place while Mallesh was transporting tomatoes to Kolar.
