A scene in the Christopher Nolan blockbuster, 'Oppenheimer' hasn't been well received by some Indian audiences, despite the movie's success at the box office.
The scene of reading the Bhagavad Gita during sexual intercourse has invited criticism. The organization 'Save Culture Save India Foundation' has alleged that the film, which has been approved by the Censor Board, is making a strong attack on the Hindu religion. The film shows Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) reading the Gita before engaging in sexual intercourse.
The organization is demanding that the scene should be removed from the film and those involved should be punished. They also asked how the Censor Board approved the scene.
The ensemble cast of Oppenheimer includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, and Kenneth Branagh.
