BENGALURU: Suspension for three female students who recorded a video of their classmate in the restroom of a medical institute in Udupi, Karnataka. The college authorities have taken action against Alimathul Shaifa, Shabanas and Alia who are students of optometry at the college.
According to the college's rules, mobile phones are prohibited on the campus. The action was taken against the students for violating this rule by bringing a phone to the college and filming a video of a classmate in the restroom without her consent.
The accused students themselves confessed to the incident of recording their classmate in the restroom. They claimed that the video was shot by mistake, as they had intended to target someone else. When the victim found out about the recording, she confided in her friends who promptly reported the matter to the college authorities.
Upon learning about the incident, the college authorities took immediate action and suspended the culprits. They filed a complaint with the police and the phone used to shoot the video was sent for forensic examination.
