KANNUR: As rains continue unabated in Kannur and Wayanad, the district collectors of these two districts have yet again announced a holiday for all educational institutions tomorrow. All educational institutions including professional colleges will remain closed in Kannur and Wayanad. Nursery schools, ICSE/ CBSE schools, and Madrasas will have to conform to the collector's order.

The rains are battering across these two districts and are also indulging in widespread destruction. Kabani River in Wayanad has breached the banks and is overflowing. Yesterday, a car carrying forest officials from Tamil Nadu slipped into the stream. The four officials were saved miraculously after the locals turned up in a timely manner.

The missed classes will have to be compensated and the school authorities can schedule this appropriately. However, the PSC exams scheduled for tomorrow remain unchanged. Wayanad collector Dr Renu Raj IAS has issued strong orders for all educational institutions to close down on Tuesday minding the IMD warning of rains with fierce intensity.
