MALAYINKEEZHU: Saji, the accused who threw acid on the face of Maranalloor Panchayat Standing Committee Chairman Sudhir Khan, has entered Tamil Nadu, sources said. Saji's tower location was found to be in Chennai during the investigation focusing on his mobile number.

While Sudhir Khan is CPI local committee secretary, Saji is an ex-secretary. The incident took place at around 7.30 am on Sunday. Hours after the incident, Saji called two local committee members of the CPI on their mobile phones from the Thuckalay region. Upon finding this, the police reached the houses of the two CPI members and collected information. Later, the police found that Saji's phone reached the tower location in Chennai. The police said that the investigation has been extended to Tamil Nadu. The investigation is led by Kattakkada DySP Shibu and Maranalloor SHO Anoop.

Sudhir Khan was sleeping in the bedroom when Saji broke into his room and threw acid on his face. Following this, he switched off his phone and fled. The condition of acid attack victim Sudhir Khan is remaining critical. He is currently undergoing treatment in the Medical College Hospital ICU.
