ALAPPUZHA: A girl who was undergoing treatment after consuming poisonous fruit died in Karuvatta, Kannanchery. Veena (14), daughter of Puthuvel Prasanth was studying in 9th standard. Earlier, the girl was taken to Harippad Taluk Hospital due to physical discomfort but Veena did not disclose anything about the poisoned food.

The girl was sent home after receiving initial treatment at the taluk hospital. However, the next day, her health condition worsened and she was taken to Vandanam Medical College. It was there that she revealed about the poisoned substance. Despite receiving treatment, her life could not be saved.
