THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has announced the possibility of heavy rain in the state for five days. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued for various districts. Today, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts are under an orange alert. Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts are under a yellow alert today.
Tomorrow, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts will be under a yellow alert, and the day after tomorrow, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts will be under a yellow alert. There is a chance of isolated heavy rain.
Meanwhile, a Well Marked Low Pressure Area is located over the Central West Bay of Bengal and North West Bay of Bengal. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that in the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of intensifying into an extremely low-pressure system and moving in the west-northwest direction towards the North Andhra Pradesh - South Odisha coast.
