Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur is at risk of receiving two games ban from ICC. If the ICC decides on the ban, Kaur will miss crucial two games in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
In the third ODI against Bangladesh, Harmanpreet was caught leg before wicket in Nahida Akther's over. However, the captain fumed and claimed about a small edge she got with the bat. The umpires stood on the decision which saw Kaur bludgeoning the stumps in rage. Later in the post-match ceremony, the Indian captain still in the dismissal rage ridiculed the Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana and asked the umpires to join the post-match ceremony as she said their “pathetic” decisions gifted a valuable point for Bangladesh. Nigar Sultana left the pitch along with other players in protest and asked Kaur to learn some manners.
For match equipment abuse and criticism of umpires, Harmanpreet Kaur may get up to four demerit points. Earlier, social media also erupted in anger at the uncouth conduct of Kaur with Bangladesh. The lapse of judgment from Kaur is a shocker since the leader is known for her perseverance.
