THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have closed the investigation into the incident in which a microphone malfunctioned while the Chief Minister was speaking at the Oommen Chandy commemoration organized by KPCC. According to sources, the police will submit its report to the court tomorrow. Earlier, a controversy erupted after the police registered a case regarding the incident. Following this, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan directed the police not to take further action. With this, the police decided to close the investigation.

Earlier, Opposition Leader VD Satheesan had alleged that the case was registered by the police after receiving a call from the CM's office.

The incident related to the case took place the other day during the commemoration program organized by KPCC at Ayyankali Hall. As the Chief Minister was speaking, the microphone's voice was interrupted. The mic malfunctioned just minutes after the CM began his speech. Following this, the Cantonment Police filed a suo moto case under the Kerala Police Act.
