MALAYINKEEZHU: The body of Sajikumar (58), the accused in the acid attack case, who was found hanging in a lodge in Madurai, will be brought home today. Sajikumar was found dead at VKR Lodge near Madurai Periyar Bus Stand on Tuesday evening. It was the staff of the lodge who informed Sajikumar's relatives from Sajikumar's phone. Sajikumar had fled from Thiruvananthapuram after throwing acid at Maranalloor Panchayat Standing Committee Chairman and CPI Local Committee Secretary Sudheer Khan. Sudheer Khan was seriously injured in the acid attack.
Maranalloor SHO Anoop said that Sajikumar had called a person in Maranalloor and inquired about Sudhir Khan's health condition on Monday evening. The Tamil Nadu Police have found a suicide note from the dead body. The Tamil Nadu Police will hand over the inquest report to Maranalloor Police through the court. The investigation team which was in Chennai has reached Madurai. It is learned that Sajikumar made allegations against CPI and AR Sudhir Khan and N. Bhasurankan in his suicide note. The acid attack took place on Sunday when Sudhir Khan was sleeping in his room.
Sudhir Khan, who is in the ICU of the Medical College Hospital, has lost 90 percent of his vision in his left eye, the hospital authorities said. His condition remains critical. Sajikumar's body will be cremated today at 9 am at the Maranalloor Vidyhya crematorium.
