THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain will continue in northern Kerala today. There will be rain in districts from Malappuram to Kasaragod. Yellow alert has been declared in these districts.
A strong depression is located on top of central West Bay of Bengal and northwest Bay of Bengal. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that it is likely to move in a northwesterly direction towards North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coast. Meantime, the coastal low pressure that prevailed over south Konkan coast to north Kerala coast has weakened. Hilly areas have been asked to be on alert.
