KARACHI: Anju, a native of Rajasthan, has denied reports that she converted and married a Pakistani Facebook friend. The woman stated that the rumours that she had married her friend Nasrullah were untrue and that she had come to Pakistan intending to visit the country.
There are also reports that the woman said that she will come to India next month. A national media has reported the news. Anju, who is married and a mother of two children, came to Pakistan last week to meet Nasrullah, a native of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Reports surfaced yesterday that she converted to Islam and changed her name to Fatima and married Nasrullah at the District Court in Upper Dir. A video of the two together is circulating on social media. Following this, the woman's father responded to the media that such a daughter no longer existed and he considered her dead.
Anju's family consisted of her husband Aravind, a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Anju left home last Thursday saying she was going to meet her friends in Jaipur. She reached Pakistan through the Wagah-Attari border.
