THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two seater-cum-sleeper buses purchased from the security deposits of KSRTC SWIFT employees will be put into service from Chingam 1. One of the buses is an AC bus, which cost 50 lakhs, and the other is a non-AC vehicle, which cost 45 lakhs. Both buses will operate on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod route. The bus has 27 semi-sleeper seats and 15 sleeper seats and all seats are equipped with a charging facility, mobile pouch and luggage space. It has 2 emergency doors and LED displays board on four sides for safety.
Minister Antony Raju said that the staff will receive a portion of the profits made from the new bus. In a similar vein, there is a plan to purchase buses with public support.
