MUVATTUPUZHA: A murder charge has been imposed against a biker for knocking down a college student leading to her death while she was crossing the road. A case has been registered against Anson Roy of Kizhakkemattom in Enanalloor.

The police informed that cause of the accident was reckless driving and overspeed. The youth's license is likely to be revoked. There are reports that Anson Roy is a habitual offender and accused in four cases including attempt to murder. It is hinted that he is also an accused in ganja case.

The accident happened last evening at 5 pm in front of Nirmala College in Muvattupuzha. The dead has been identified as Namitha R, a final year BCom student, daughter of Reghu of Valakam Kunnakkal Vadakkepushpakam. Her friend, Anusree Raj, daughter of M D Jayarajan of Kottayam Poovakulam Manimala, sustained injuries. Anson Roy also sustained injuries in the accident.

Namitha's classmates protested in front of the hospital where the youth was admitted soon after the accident. They protested demanding to register a homicide case against him. Namitha will be cremated this evening at 3.30 pm.
