MUVATTUPUZHA: College students have come forward with details of the death of a student who was hit by a speeding bike while crossing the road.

The students said the rider, Anson Roy, was speeding. They stated that the student was taken to the hospital immediately after the accident. The students also said that Namitha was alive on the way to the hospital.

The students also told the media that when Anson Roy was being taken to the hospital, he spoke very badly about the deceased student. Additionally, they said that he had acted provocatively. Anson reportedly claimed that he hadn't hit anyone following the collision. Meanwhile, the police informed that Anson is accused in several cases including attempted murder. The police said that it is suspected that he used drugs regularly. A case has been registered against him under involuntary manslaughter and dangerous driving.

The accident happened last evening at 5 pm in front of Nirmala College in Muvattupuzha. The dead has been identified as Namitha R, a final year BCom student, daughter of Reghu of Valakam Kunnakkal Vadakkepushpakam. Her friend, Anusree Raj, daughter of M D Jayarajan of Kottayam Poovakulam Manimala, sustained injuries. Anson Roy also sustained injuries in the accident
