NEW DELHI: BJP leader Vinod Sharma, who criticized the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Manipur riots, has resigned from the party. Vinod Sharma was the spokesperson of BJP in Bihar. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sleeping and the party will not have the courage to sack the Manipur Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, MPs from the opposition alliance 'INDIA' will visit Manipur on Saturday and Sunday, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi quipped that the opposition parties have come up with a new name 'INDIA' to hide the corruption of the past.
In Rajasthan, the Prime Minister said that the old name UPA was dropped because of embarrassment and that the name change will not help the alliance. He also accused the opposition of fooling the people of the country by using the name 'INDIA'.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized that Modi knows that his ideology is the cause of riots in Manipur. Rahul accused Modi of being the prime minister of only a few people like the RSS and further criticized him for not going to Manipur and talking about the issue.
