THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is enforcing strict measures to restrict the use of Sabha TV visuals on private television channels and on social media. The state assembly secretary A M Basheer in the new guidelines created warned the social media users to not crop a portion from Sabha TV videos and use it to misconstrue the viewers on the internet. According to new norms, the rights of Sabha TV videos shall only be owned by Kerala Legislative Assembly Media and Parliamentary Studies (K-LAMPS).
The watermark and logo of Sabha TV should not be edited out for any reason from the video. These should be shown from the beginning to the end of the video. At present, with many private channels using the Sabha TV videos, there is a small discord brewing about copyright infringement. The assembly secretary said the new guidelines adopted were part of the big step to quell such tensions over copyright issues. According to the secretary, the initial steps to the reform were taken shortly after the press meeting called by speaker A N Shamseer on December 15, 2022.
