THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Crime branch issued notices to the then 14 legislators to testify in the Assembly ruckus case. Statements of 10 people were recorded. Crime branch has submitted the first report on the progress of the investigation in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate. The case will be heard again on August 17.

Statements of Ayesha Potti, Jamila Prakasam, TV Rajesh, AP Anilkumar, MA Wahid, V Shashi, C Divakaran, VS Sivakumar, Bijimol and AT George were recorded. A notice was sent to former MLA N Shaktan on July 10, but his statement could not be recorded. According to the report, Shaktan told the investigation team that there was an inconvenience and that he can give his statement only after consulting the party. The statements of the doctors who treated the injured MLAs were also recorded. Notice was given for medical records but they are not yet received. According to the report submitted by DySP Sajeev, the statement of the watch and ward in the assembly was also recorded.

The interim report was submitted as per the direction given to the investigation team by the court at the time of allowing further investigation. Minister V Sivankutty, left leaders EP Jayarajan, KT Jalil, K Ajith, K Kunjahammed and CK Sadashivan are accused in the case.
