KOCHI: 25 Crore Onam Bumper Lottery by the State Lottery Department worth Rs 500 with record sales on the first day itself. Of the six lakh tickets distributed to the district offices, 4,41,600 tickets were sold yesterday itself. This is an all-time record for bumper ticket sales. Last year, 1.5 lakh tickets were sold on the first day.
Bumper ticket sales started yesterday. 30 lakh tickets were printed in the first phase. Up to 90 lakh tickets will be printed as per demand. Raj Kapoor, Deputy Director of Sales Department said that in the coming days, tickets will be delivered to all offices so that there is no shortage.
The Onam bumper has gained more acceptance this time as the prize structure has changed. 5,34,670 prizes in total. 1,36,759 more prizes than last time. The second prize which is Rs 1 crore each will be given to 20 people. Last time the second prize was 5 crores for one person alone. The draw will be held on September 20.
