THISSUR: Nurses will go on a full-day strike in the district tomorrow to protest against the lack of action against Dr. Alok, the owner of Nile Hospital. Today, nurses staged a strike in front of the doctor's house in Ayyanthol, demanding the arrest of Alok, who kicked a pregnant nurse in the stomach. The position of the nurses is that they will not back down without the doctor's arrest. Emergency department nurses will also participate in the strike. It has also been informed that the United Nurses Association (UNA) will participate in the strike.
Nurses who have been working in the hospital for about seven years are paid less than Rs 10,000. Seven of the nurses who protested against this were dismissed. A discussion was called at the Labor Office to resolve the issue related to this. Dr. Alok tried to leave, but the nurses resisted him. It escalated into a conflict, and the doctor kicked the nurse. This incident led to the strike tomorrow.
