THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 23-year-old reborn through surgery. The miraculous return to life happened after a six-hour surgery at Kim's Health, Thiruvananthapuram.

The man was stabbed in the leg in the conflict. The main blood artery and vein in the right leg were cut in two and his heart had stopped beating when he was taken to the hospital. It was found that uncontrolled bleeding is what caused the cardiac arrest. Through a complex surgery, the patient's severed artery and vein were reconstructed and his life was saved.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered for 45 minutes with the help of a blood transfusion and the heartbeat was restored. After maintaining the blood pressure through a long process, he underwent emergency surgery in coordination with various departments. The severed artery and vein were then reconstructed using the vein in the patient's own left leg. After the bleeding stopped, the patient's condition improved and the blood flow in the paralyzed right leg returned to normal. Cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Rinett Sebastian KV, who led the surgery, said that the young man was brought back to life through timely expert intervention. Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Department Consultants Dr. S Subash, Dr. Swapna Sasidharan, General Surgery Department Consultant Dr. Sanoop Kosi and Emergency Department Consultant Dr. Shalini S also participated.
