ALUVA : The suspicion of the CITU worker in the Aluva market played an important role in finding the body of the missing five-year-old Chandini. Sirajuddin had seen Ashfak, who was caught by the police, come to the market yesterday afternoon with Chandni. Sirajuddin informed the police after seeing the picture of Ashfak who was arrested this morning. During the subsequent search, the dead body was found tied in a sack behind the Aluva market.

'Yesterday around 3.15 pm, the arrested person arrived here with the baby. The child was eating candy. He took the child behind the Aluva market saying he was going to drink alcohol. I got suspicious and asked who this child was. He said it was his daughter. Two or three people followed him.Not sure if it was his accomplices. There is regular drinking here.'- Sirajuddin said.

Police say that Ashfak lied about handing over the baby to someone else. It is indicated that Ashfak himself killed the child. The investigation is in progress. It is also being checked whether anyone else is actually involved.

Chandni is the daughter of Ramdhar Tiwari, a native of Bihar's Bishambharpur, who lives on rent in Mukkath Plaza. Asafak Alam, a native of Assam, was the resident of the same building two days ago. The child went missing on Friday around 3 pm. Ramdhar has four children. They were the only ones in the room as it was school holidays.

Ramdhar and his wife Neetu Kumari returned back from work in the evening and failed to find Chandini at home. This led to a massive search after which the only hope resorted to the police station. A complaint was filed and a search was carried out. Chandini was a 1st standard student at Thaikkattukara School. The family spoke good Malayalam and was cordial with all neighbours in the area.
