THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan strongly criticized the police over the brutal murder of the five-year-old girl in Aluva. The police have seriously failed in handling the incident. They did not conduct a thorough search to find the child, even though she was in Aluva town itself, and all the necessary facilities were available to locate her before she could be taken far away. There has been clear negligence on their part. Satheesan also questioned the number of policemen deployed in the search for the child, highlighting that a significant force is mobilized when the Chief Minister visits.
According to the police, the use of drugs and alcohol contributed to the murder. V.D. Satheesan stated that the government is incapable of controlling the drug and alcohol problem, which is leading to a rise in violence against children and women in our state. He also expressed concern that the police are being influenced by political factors, causing them to overlook such critical issues.
The five-year-old daughter of a couple from Bihar went missing on Friday evening. After hours of searching, the child's body was finally found on Saturday. The accused, Asafaq Alam, who kidnapped and killed the child, has been arrested by the police. It has also been confirmed that the child was a victim of sexual abuse.
