SRINAGAR: A soldier who came home for vacation went missing under mysterious circumstances. The incident took place in Kulgam district of south Jammu and Kashmir. Rifleman Javed Ahmed Wani (25) of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment has been missing since last night. He left home at half-past six and went to the market to buy things but did not return.
After Javed did not return even after nine o'clock at night, the family started searching. Later, the Alto car he was traveling in was found near the market. It is indicated that there was a bloodstain in the car. Kashmir police registered a case and started an investigation. Javed's family alleged that the soldier was abducted from the vehicle. Javed Ahmed Wani lived in the Achathal area of Kulgam district. There have been previous reports of incidents where terrorists abducted and killed soldiers who had come home on vacation.
