THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Afsana, who was arrested after her revelation that she killed and buried her husband Noushad, came forward levelling allegations against the police. While talking to the media soon after released from jail, she levelled allegations against the police. The court granted her bail yesterday after her statement that she killed her husband Noushad, turned to be a lie.

‘The police brutally assaulted her and made her admit that she had killed Noushad. She was brutally beaten in custody. Many including women assaulted her. Pepper spray was used several times. She said that she admitted the crime due to pain. Legal action will be taken against the police. She said that she doesn’t know why Noushad left his hometown. Noushad had some mental issues. Afsana said that he had created problems in a drunken state.

The police dug many places to find the body of Noushad (34), who went missing a year and a half ago from Kalanjoor Padam. He was found alive on Friday. He was working in the fields of Baby Varghese (Santhosh) at Kuzhimattom in Thommankuthu and was unaware of all the commotion happening here. He did not even have a mobile phone.
The turning point was the information received by Jaimon, a native of Thommankuthu and a senior civil police officer in the squad of Thodupuzha DySP. Jaimon's relative Rajesh, who has a shop at Thommankuthu, told him that a person visiting here is similar to Noushad. An investigation conducted helped in finding Noushad.


Afsana (25) was summoned and interrogated following the information received by Koodal sub inspector Shemimol that there is a mystery in the missing case of Noushad. Afsana testified that Noushad would brutally beat her and her children in a drunken state and so she killed and buried him with the help of someone to avoid harassment. She was later taken into custody.

She kept on retracting her statement. She first said that she hid the body in the mosque’ graveyard and later said that she buried the body in the house and then said she threw the body in the river. Although Afsana was assessed to be mentally ill, the police searched inside the house and the field. Meanwhile, the arrest of Afsana was recorded and she was remanded. Noushad was found when the police were to conduct further investigation to find the body. Noushad's statement was taken and after medical examination at 7:30 pm, he was produced before the magistrate. He was later released. Noushad was missing since November 1, 2021 while he was living on rent near Adoor Paruthipara Mosque with his wife.

‘Afsana and some of her male friends brutally beat him in the rented house. He left the place fearing for his life. He did not contact his family out of fear. He said that he has no complaint against Afsana. He said that he does not want to live in his hometown. He said that he wants the custody of both his children.
